Book Notice: Rapamycin, mTOR, Autophagy & Treating mTOR Syndrome

Ross Pelton, RPh, PhD, CCN

The 2nd edition of Ross Pelton’s book titled Rapamycin, mTOR, Autophagy & Treating mTOR Syndrome is now available. The 2nd edition contains 40% new information and documentation on the science of rapamycin. Because mTOR & autophagy are such critical regulators of health and aging, Ross proposed The mTOR/Autophagy Theory of Aging in the 2nd edition.

Many physicians are not willing to write a rapamycin Rx for their patient(s). This greatly inhibits the widespread acceptance and use of the most effective life extension drug ever discovered.

The 2nd edition discusses a brand of rapamycin (produced using nanotechnology for superior absorption) that can be purchased at a very reasonable price without a prescription from overseas sources. Details about pricing and ordering are on my blog at  http://www.naturalpharmacist.net

Although this is a controversial issue, the author believes that rapamycin is safer than easily available OTC drugs like ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Evidence continues to support the fact that when rapamycin is taken episodically, its health benefits vastly exceed the minor side effects that only occasionally occur.

Other new topics in the 2nd edition are:

  1. How rapamycin, dietary protein, and strength training impact sarcopenia, which is the loss of muscle mass and strength with aging.
  2. Why many men taking rapamycin experience an increase in the frequency of erections.
  3. Results from animal studies suggest rapamycin may extend female fertility and delay the onset of menopause.
  4. Introduction to Rapamycin.News, which is an online user’s forum and the best site for information about all issues related to rapamycin
  5. The Dog Aging Project: enrolling 100,000 companion/pet dogs to study aging; one arm of the trial is studying rapamycin’s anti-aging effects in dogs.
  6. AgelessRx and the PEARL, which is a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial designed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of rapamycin for health and longevity in healthy adults.
  7. A call for FDA reform to get aging classified as a disease, which would dramatically increase funding for drugs and therapies to treat aging.

The 2nd edition of Rapamycin, mTOR, Autophagy & Treating mTOR Syndrome is available on Amazon.com, and it can also be ordered from Life Extension by calling (866) 598-6747. Life Extension also gives purchasers a free 6-month subscription to their Life Extension magazine.
