Omega-3s Are
Key to Skin Protection
Letters to the editor have a short lifespan. I remember the Wall Street Journal had an article on the B-24. World War II vets had lots of opinions on the B-24. Finally the editors said, enough is enough, and cut off the letters.
I have an opinion on “Anti-photoaging” (October 2010). An author and advertiser in Townsend Letter, professor Brian Peskin, wrote The Hidden Story of Cancer, 550 pages of facts. If anyone read it, they would know that skin cancer is the result of low cellular oxygen due to limited intake of omega-3s and -6s (essential fatty acids). Skin cells have only omega-6s in the cellular membrane and mitochondria.
I was a typical California kid, now 79 years old. I never wore a hat and personally have had a malignant melanoma. and 3 squamous cell cancers over 15 years. I know that it will be called anecdotal, but I started omega-3s and -6s three years ago and have no new skin cancers and no other cancers.
Sincerely,
Roy Christian, retired MD
