Dr. Kurt Beil is a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist who has been investigating the “healing power of being in Nature” for over 20 years. He completed his public health field work on urban green spaces as viable and sustainable tools for public health promotion, and conducted post-doctoral research on the psychophysiological impact of urban natural and built environments. Dr. Beil is the founding co-chair of the Nature & Health subcommittee of the Intertwine Alliance, a coalition of private, governmental and non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting and preserving the parks, trails, and natural areas of the Portland, Oregon metro region. He has taught and is a certified Forest Therapy guide. Dr. Beil maintains a clinical practice in Happy Valley, Oregon, focusing on patients with chronic disease, and gets out to “walk his talk” in the natural and wild spaces of the Pacific Northwest as much as possible.
