Learning Reasons Behind Light Sensitivity
is a Relief
I was so grateful to see the article about fluorescent lighting in the Townsend Letter (issue #327) for October 2010. First of all, thank you for putting the topic on your front cover, because this is what prompted me to buy the magazine.
I have been bothered by neon lights for over 15 years. I can’t be in any building (department store, grocery store, post office, library – well, every building, really) for more than 5 minutes without becoming nauseated, woozy, light-headed, depressed, and tired. And if I spend hours under them (which I can’t anymore), my brain malfunctions. I am no longer employed, but when I was, my brain would malfunction at any given time without my being aware of it. I would make mistakes with regard to my work, although I saw myself doing my job correctly. It was then that I realized something was wrong with my brain, and I became very afraid.
About 6 or 7 years after I quit working, I was talking to someone about this matter, and she mentioned that I have light sensitivity. She said that a lot of people have it. I was so relieved to hear this, because I didn’t know what was wrong with me and why I felt sick.
After she told me this, I began observing how I felt whenever I went into a building, and to my surprise, I found that she had been right. Now I knew what the problem was! But then I wanted to know why neon lights affected me that way. So another 6 or 7 years later, along comes your article about fluorescent lighting, and now I know why!
Thank you for printing that article!
Sincerely,
